Baking -from scratch, or not from scratch
Over this past weekend, I baked my first batch of brownies from scratch. They turned out fairly well and I was glad with the results. Yet I’m not sure if bothering to make them from scratch is worth it. I wish I’d had a prepared batch from a box mix to compare. If brownies made from scratch are good, but brownies from the box are also good… do you really need to bother making them from scratch? Would anybody appreciate the effort or notice any difference? (Okay… so if you have all the necessary ingredients… it wasn’t that much extra effort –but I am still torn about this debate in my head.) So I’m curious what other people typically do and what they prefer. Baking brownies… from scratch, or not from scratch? I’m still undecided.

Let's give this a try...
Writing is something I've enjoyed since second grade. Deciding on a creative title, coming up with character names, planning out the plot structure -it's all a challenge that I love. However, once I get started with a story, it either simply dies out, or I think of a new wonderful idea to start… and then the first story gets dropped, I start the new one, and it gets dropped as the cycle continues. I have yet to write anything that gets to a real point of length, but if I’m going to be totally candid –finishing a real story is a heartfelt goal of mine one day. Even if the story and writing turns out crummy, I’d love to just follow an idea through to completion, and prove to myself that I am capable of writing through a whole something. For now, I’ve discovered blogging, and I openly embrace the ability to freely write short snippets of randomness as I so choose. And so I begin this blog , as a means of encouraging myself to write on a more consistent basis, with no judgment, pressure, or guidelines to deter me. Hopefully this will become a read worth following!
